I miss freebies like these too, tbh, that's why I still make them....I'd love to see more of them again :D Animation is really tricky honestly, it took me a lot of practice and messing around when I was figuring it out originally.

Same! I miss comms like Smirky back on LJ when they used to do icon freebies like this. Someone needs to start one on here like that again. Miss those days of those comms. I keep getting stuck at certain parts of tutorials for my photoshop.

I'd honestly love to see another one of those communities pop up, since I have very fond memories of my time as a maker at smirky actually! But even if I started one, I worry that I wouldn't be able to find anyone else to be a maker D:

Same! Oh where you under a different username for it? I don't remember, I'd have to look at it again. If I knew how or someone could teach me one on one in a chat or vid call, I would so join in helping you do a comm like that. I just can't seem to do the animation or figure it out on my own even with the tutorials.

I've always been setsuntamew on LJ, but I was a maker at smirky pretty early on in its existence- I think 2008-2011-ish? But I had to take a break from icon making for quite a few years due to not having a computer D:

Also, I will say that freebies like these don't have to animate, I just like doing it. I had a fair amount of friends who didn't make animated ones because they found them to be too much of a pain in the ass.
