Hi and welcome back
once again to my quest to teach everyone how to make icons. This time, we'll be switching gears slightly and learning a different icon style: my beloved sparkle graphics *w*
I wrote a tutorial in 2006 for a similar style, but I wanted to make an updated version, with the skillz I've learned over the years~
This is
much longer than my past few icon tutorials and more complicated. It was written in Photoshop 2020 and assumes that you are decently comfortable using the software already, because there's a
lot going on that will be confusing if you don't already know the basics. I don't know how well it translates to other image editing software, since it makes use of a lot of layer styles that I'm not sure exist elsewhere. Sorry D:

Apparently I've been bitten by the urge to write icon tutorials again...which is only really surprising because I'm not procrastinating anything today XD I wanted to bust this out before Halloween, so let's get to it!
Made in Photoshop 2020, but you can probably recreate it in as far back as CS2-ish (since I still use the same sort of techniques I've been using since then, lmao). Not sure how well it translates to other graphics software, because I downloaded Photoshop in 2004 and never looked back XD

( happy halloween (icon tutorial edition)!!! )

Hello and welcome to "Killian writes an icon tutorial for the first time since 2010", aka an excuse to procrastinate working on my wig for a con this weekend (so basically, not a lot has changed).
Made in Photoshop 2020, but you can probably recreate it in as far back as CS2-ish (since I still use the same sort of techniques I've been using since then, lmao). Not sure how well it translates to other graphics software, sorry! Adobe has me in a death grip.

Another tutorial straight from the archives (aka, I got access to my LJ graphics journal from 2006 and I'm so glad for it). Sorry for any outdated instructions; please feel free to ask questions :D
We're going to be learning to make the icon below today. YAY! It's for Photoshop CS2, though it may transfer to other versions. I'm not sure if you can do all the text and layer effects in PSP, though. I'm sorry ^^;;

I'm not sure if this will translate to PSP, I'm sorry. I'm not even sure how much help I'd be with PSP, since I haven't used it for years.
We'll be making this icon here, since tons of people asked for it. Written for Photoshop & Image Ready CS.

( warning: long, confusing, and image rich )

Hokay, so here goes my first ever picture icon tutorial. It will be long. It will be hard. It will be confusing. There will be lots of pictures. Feel free to ask questions and/or show me what you've made with it!
It's written using Photoshop and Image Ready CS2, though I'm fairly certain that it will translate to earlier versions. I
know that the text part won't translate to PSP, sorry guys.

Today we learn how to make an icon!
BE EXCITED! I haven't written a tutorial in a really long time, so hopefully this makes sense >_>
Made in Photoshop CS5, but I'm sure it translates to older versions & probably Gimp + PSP.
